Easy and Quick Install, (What's this?) I simply opened my old Dell Dimension 8200 PC, placed the card into an available slot and it worked perfectly. Windows XP immediately recognized the hardware and no additional software (i.e., drivers) needed to be installed.
Fast USB ports, (What's this?) I was in need of three USB ports. This PCI filled the need plus updated the speed.
It was simple to install, and worked right away.
I found it on AMAZON.com. Arrived in a few days.
Harmful with Linux, HP v125w, and ext3, (What's this?) I had the great misfortune of discovering first-hand that this product causes data corruption in the HP USB flash drive z125w (8GB) when formatted with the ext3 file-system, used under Linux kernel 2.6.28
I was so disgusted with the experience that I ceased to use the product immediately and did not conduct more thorough testing with different combinations of environment, file-system, and hardware. I am fortunate enough to not miss the 7 dollars. However I do miss the time (and hair) lost due to massive data corruption.
It might very well function perfectly under MS Windows or Snow Leopard---you're up, place your bets.
Works for me, (What's this?) I tried this device on an old pentium mx machine and it worked great, it recognized my usb keys and an external 500GB disk. It also recognized my usb mouse and keyboard.
usb 2.0 works great, (What's this?) This USB 2.0 was used with a Wireless USB from Amazon to connect to the internet with an old computer that would not work with a much more expensive PCI wireless card.
Perfect Solution, (What's this?) This is just what I needed for an older PC. Works perfectly and the price is right. Seller delivered in a timely manner.
So far so good, (What's this?) had er for about a week. wasnt sure if it'd even work with the dinosaur of a board i got, my computer had 2 1.1 ports on the board but i needed 2.
Good product, (What's this?) Good product and seller.
Buyer beware..., (What's this?) Ordered this SYBA VT6202 but got the cheaper(IMO) Syba SD-VIA-5U delivered. The SD-VIA-5U is not recommended for external hard drives as per reviews online.
Worked perfectly in Mac G5 1.8DP, (What's this?) I bought this with some skepticism that it would work in my PowerMac G5 Dual 1.8 since it's a VIA chipset. I was pleasantly surprised that all I had to do was drop it in the slot and fire it up! No drivers needed... just worked... like it's supposed to!
It also honors the "sleep" command. I plugged my Bluetooth USB into the internal port and left it there and it did not interfere with putting the Mac to sleep.
